cookie swap

perhaps zoe is too little to participate in a cookie swap...

lego

dominic loves lego, perhaps too much.  especially if it has wheels.  this is the kind of truck he loves (made by an adult):

he's just at the age where he knows what he wants but can't quite build it, so it's frustrating.  but i've started taking some pictures of what he is able to build to show how his lego skills progress.   

this one is duplo, but still pretty good!

i stopped letting him take lego trucks to bed for this reason:

auntie melissa is the QUEEN of lego... she makes him these awesome houses... 

anyhow, i'll keep taking lego pictures and see if it shows his developing skills.  

birthday celebration #2

on dominic's actual birthday, we had a small family dinner - just us with Omi and Auntie Melissa.  he loves mac-n-cheese, so i made this gourmet mac with white cheddar and smoked gouda (not to mention prosciutto)... and he did not like it.  ha!  i guess i'll have to use cheaper cheese next time.  

we just had cupcakes (which he helped me make) because we were having another party in a few days.  

here he is waiting for his birthday parade.  doesn't he look excited?  he actually was.  

by far his favorite present:  mack (from the movie cars) from auntie melissa.  

it was a fun evening and a good day.

zoe has awesome new boots.  this picture is more to show her sweet boots hanging down from the moby wrap than to show silly auntie melissa walking backwards.

how he loves [auntie melissa]

often dominic says "what's this song about?" so today in the car we were listening to how he loves and i said, "dominic, this song is about how much God loves us. he loves you so much! he loves me, he loves papa and zoe too."

dominic says, "and he loves auntie melissa?" (how cute is that?)

"yes!" i said "he loves auntie melissa too!"

"and she will give him funny kisses?"

haha! what a guy! (auntie melissa gives dominic tons of funny kisses at bed time)
